Emerson Automation Solutions boasts over a century of industry-leading products and services. With strong brand offerings from multi-ton valves to portable devices, they've expanded through strategic acquisitions. The challenge was to merge these individual brands into a cohesive suite of solutions for a competitive edge. They required a unified design language to connect their brands. Through research on products, branding, and stakeholder aspirations, they identified core values to guide design principles. By recognizing common interactions and applying Human Centered Design, they created intuitive interfaces and aesthetic cues. The design language was fully documented, and the Emerson team was educated on its application and updates as new product categories emerged.
